Due to a week’s rest @ home, I had bcum a lazy bum. Had to be there @ 9AM !!!. Got-up at around 8AM, though my eyes were still resisting it. Got ready and we (Myself n my frnd) reported at 9:05AM to my second wife in Banashankari, hehe to MindTree – Moi new job. They told me to sit in a room where in all of them were waiting for us. There was a very warm welcome wid a welcome kit (consists a T-Shirt, Dairy and lots of papers, forms to fill up). They explained the agenda for d day. Soon after we were taken to their West Campus in Global Village situated behind RV Coll of Engg (my coll again) through their cab. We were around 27 of us in our batch who were joining on the day.
We entered the campus and was a huge one. When I entered the building, my eyes were wide opened, what an architecture d building has! , may be I will have to write another blog to explain the campus itself. We were made to sit in Kalpavruksha-1 (Name for an auditorium). They have around 3 such audi’s. Then there was an Ice-Breaker session where we tried to introduce ourselves in a different way. Now it was around 12:30 PM. Then they took us to Culture and Competence – 1 ( Training Hall) to create our MailID’s and Employee ID’s. Everything was automated and was done in a min. We got our id’s and they distributed the food coupons for free !! (As it was our first day). We had our food. Food was not that great but still was ok to have it. We had a walk around the campus after lunch and assembled back in kalpavruksha-1 at 2:30PM. There was a session by Mr.Parthasarathy, a co-founder of Mindtree. He explained all the CLASS values and the structure of Mindtree. They believe in CLASS values which goes like dis C – Caring L – Learning A – Achieving S – Sharing S – Social Responsibility Which I liked very much. They trust people and if they get to know any frauds, they are the rude ones.. Infact we don’t have attendance either !!!!
After his session, the Admin people pitched in there and they distributed the bus passes to everyone by explaining the routes and bus no’s for their resp stops. They have around 32 routes. Then we had a filmi round, where a clip of “Making of MindTree – 1” was played. A nice, descent video that was…. It contained the story from their idea in mind to start up a company to their birth. A must watch video I would say.. By the time v finished it was around 6PM and walked towards the buses as the buses would leave by 6:35PM. We sat in our resp buses and came back home.
A nice, wonderful, satisfied day @ Mindtree came to an end. The couple of things I liked compared to our prev organization were like all the processes were defined and well placed properly, most of the systems were automated and one more thing is , the new joinees were directed well and all the things were coming to them where they are sitting like bus passes, Id’s, Access cards and we were not made to run around for all these basic needs which we look out for. But whatever it may be, for perot guys out there - I REALLY MISS U ALL
